Fernando Burgos is the CIO of Santander Bank in Germany and an Executive Committee member in the company. Before being appointed CIO, Fernando was Santander’s Chief Digital Officer.
Under his responsibility he has been driving Digital and Technology transformation in the Bank, and the strategic evolution of legacy systems towards new cloud-based capabilities and new customer-centric technology stacks.
Prior to his tenure in the Banking Industry, Fernando spent most of his professional career in the telecommunication industry. During this period, he worked for Deutsche Telekom as Senior Vice President of Home Services. He as well spent 13 years with Telefonica, most recently as Director of Digital in Germany, leading the overarching Digital unit resulting of O2 and E-Plus merger. Prior to this, Fernando directed the Corporate Venture Capital fund of Telefonica and managed the portfolio of invested companies across Silicon Valley and Israel.
Earlier in his career, Fernando held teaching and research positions at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic Institute – ETH (Zurich) and La Salle URL (Barcelona), and worked several years as an architect in Spain.
Fernando has an Executive MBA from IMD in Lausanne, a Masters Degree from ETH in Zurich, a Masters in Structural Engineering, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Sevilla.

Katharina Paust-Bokrezion is an experienced banking and payment professional working in the industry for more than 20 years. She has been with Deutsche Bank since 2004.
In her current role as the Head of Payments Policy in the Political Affairs team she is responsible for establishing and executing the global advocacy strategy of the organisation covering developments in the areas of payments, crypto-assets and central bank digital currencies and engaging with political and regulatory representatives on these matters.
Katharina’s roots are in the capital markets and securities services sector where she was a relationship manager for institutional clients and their portfolio across the European markets. She then became a product manager for post-trade, clearing and custody services which included the expansion of the Deutsche Bank franchise into further regions globally.
Additionally, as a member of the global Diversity & Inclusion team of Deutsche Bank, Katharina contributed to establishing a diverse and inclusive work culture across the organisation including the implementation of the German gender quota law. She continues to be passionately engaged in several employee resource groups and initiatives, including being the “advisory-mother” in the network Fathers@DB.
Ana-Maria Vasile, CAMS-RM, IRMCert, has a broad expertise on Anti-Financial Crime and Enterprise Risk Management, with 15 years of practical experience in the financial services industry and bringing a specialized educational background in this respect. Currently, she is the Chief Compliance Officer at CEC Bank Romania, coordinating the overall Regulatory, Compliance Risk Management, AML/CTF and Sanctions Compliance activities within the bank.
As part of her experience, Ana was involved in the implementation of global policies and internal controls for the prevention of financial crime risks related to TBML, including the development of a one-of-its-kind in-house monitoring application for Trade Finance transaction monitoring within Commerzbank AG.
Prior to joining Commerzbank, Ana was a Manager in the forensic practice of Deloitte, her focus areas and responsibilities being related to delivering projects on the implementation of ML/TF risk management programs in financial institutions, targeted financial sanctions, FATCA implementation, fraud and money laundering investigations, fraud detection, transaction monitoring for various financial products, funds tracking, assessment of AML/CTF compliance activity within financial institutions and implementation and assessment of AFC/Sanctions/Ethics and Compliance programs.
Additionally, she also has extensive experience in the country risk assessment practice, as she was a subject matter expert in the ML/TF National Risk Assessments projects for Lithuania (2015) and Latvia (2016).
Neha Wattas, Executive Director, is a global Banking and FinTech executive.
She is currently the Head of Strategy & Insights at JPMorgan Payments, a business that moves $8T a day globally. She has been with JPMorgan for 9 years during which she has delivered high-impact products, strategies, and initiatives working at the New York and London offices across multiple lines of businesses i.e. Consumer & Community Bank, Asset Management, and Corporate & Investment Bank. Neha is an alumnus of the Management Associate Program, JPMorgan’s prestigious global leadership development program targeted at cultivating a pipeline of leaders at the bank.
