He has more than 20 years’ extensive experience in the banking industry on European market.
Jerzy Piatek joined Citi Group (Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. – a member of Citi Group) in April
2002 in Poland as Relationship Manager.

Later, he moved to the Treasury and Trade Solutions business to assume a role of Liquidity Desk
Team Leader. In 2007, he was appointed Head of Liquidity Management Services where he successfully developed
and executed a dynamic growth strategy concerning liquidity solutions and liabilities.

He held this position until 2013, when he moved to the United Kingdom, Citibank N.A for six months
to take responsibility for running Tax Collections project for Sub-Saharan Africa cluster.
In 2013, he returned Poland and Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. as Head of Payments and
Receivables.

In 2018 in addition to his current responsibilities, Jerzy Piatek was appointed Head of Digital Channels
and Data. After 2 years he moved to Citibank Europe PLC as Senior Product Manager. In his new
role he is responsible for managing EMEA Instant Payments and Wallets strategy.
Jerzy Piatek graduated from University of Warsaw, Poland as Master of Science in Accounting and
Finance.

In his positions, he was also responsible for the distribution and sale of expertise and services. This included advising banks, insurance companies and financial services companies on setting up sales models and use cases.

Francois is Head of Payments Go To Market for Europe. Based in Brussels (Belgium), he is mainly responsible for supporting global business product programmes including gpi, ISO20022, transaction management, SWIFT GO and Instant payments for the European market.

Prior to his current role, Francois was involved in some large payment initiatives in the European market: SWIFT transaction manager roll-out and global adoption of ISO20022 for CBPR+, renewal project of T2/ESMIG (the pan-European RTGS) and instant payment solutions.

Francois joined SWIFT in 2016. Prior to joining SWIFT, Francois held various finance & treasury roles in the telecom industry as well as being a former senior Auditor at PwC.

She started her banking career in NYC at Bank of New York, later moving to Germany as Senior Credit Officer and Managing Director. Kate joined Chase Bank AG/JPMC to head Treasury Services Sales and later moved to ABN AMRO as Global Transactions Services Head for Germany. Four years later she moved to Amsterdam for ABN AMRO to create and lead Global Implementation Management, later becoming Head of Global Compliance for GTS, IT, & Operations. In 2008 Kate returned to Frankfurt for Citigroup assuming the role of GTS Head for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She joined ING Germany 5 years later to head Transaction Services and in 2016 became Head of Payments Innovation for Germany and Austria. In July 2018, Kate left the banking arena to work as a Freelance Consultant and Advisor to fintechs, banks, & corporations, supporting their quest to become more efficient and effective in financial services. In 2021, Kate joined the Frankfurt-based fintech Traxpay as Head of Banking & Partner Strategy and Execution. She also facilitates the Euro Banking Association’s Open Forum and works with The Core Leadership Institute, to help professionals find their leadership purpose. Kate loves to podcast, interviewing key players in the area of technology, together with Steven Batiste for Digital Dump.

David’s role at the OBIE is to lead the growth and development of the open banking ecosystem. His key objective is to facilitate and encourage end user adoption of products and services powered by open banking. This includes all marketing and events, bringing new participants into the directory, and developing effective propositions which allow consumers and businesses to derive maximum benefit from sharing their transactional data.

His 25 years in data-driven insight and marketing have seen him work with many leading brands in multiple sectors and countries. In addition to working for some of the largest players in the data world such as Experian, Callcredit and Telefonica, David also ran his own boutique data insight business, Thinkdata, for 5 years before its acquisition by Bertelsmann.

Prior to joining OBIE, David spent 31⁄2 years as the Commercial Director at The Open Data Institute where he also led their work on open banking, helping governments and regulators in Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Canada. David regularly speaks on open banking at conferences in the UK and internationally, has co-authored a number of reports on Open Banking, and was interviewed on BBC TV on the day it officially launched in the UK.

Originally a classically trained musician, David has a Master’s from Cambridge University and an MBA in Marketing. He sits on the board of Open Data Australia, and also as a non-executive director for Boundless, a theatre company for young people. Ever the optimist, he continues to hold a season ticket at Nottingham Forest Football Club.

Gavin Littlejohn serves as Chair of the Financial Data and Technology Association (FDATA), which is a trade association for firms who use Open Finance in their business models. FDATA currently operates in North America, South America, Europe, Australasia and parts of Asia, but will continue to develop a presence in new markets. In this role Gavin is a leader of the Open Finance movement and has campaigned for balanced financial and privacy regulation, customer data rights, robust technical and identity standards, and the properly governed and funded delivery of open market architecture where participants rights are protected.

As well as advising central banks, regulators and governments in many markets, Gavin serves on the UK Open Banking Steering Group, the pan-European Berlin Group’s Open Finance Steering Group and the TISA, Open Investments Savings and Pensions Steering Group.

FDATA has also been instrumental, along with the University of Edinburgh, in setting up the new Global Open Finance Centre of Excellence, where Gavin has been the visionary and is serving as the Interim Chief Innovation and Research Officer. This role is accountable for the delivery of the five market facing propositions, namely the Global Economic Observatory, the Global Open Finance Technical Standard Working Group, the Innovation Environment, the Customer Data Protection Research Unit and the Economic Crime Research Unit.

Gavin has been a fintech entrepreneur (business to business and business to consumer) his whole career, pioneering technologies such as software as a service, distributed computing and open finance. Gavin is the founder of Money Dashboard and served as CEO until 2015. He also advises several venture capital firms on their portfolio, advises both start-ups and corporate financial service firms on strategy and occasionally teaches innovation techniques.

During decades as a bank employee, Mr. Santamaría accumulated a broad and balanced expertise in the intertwined dimensions of payments – business-related, operational, technical – across different client segments and product lines, in the legacy and the innovative spheres, which he now further develops as an independent self-employed professional. Mr Santamaría is also Chair of the Iberpay Board. Former Head of Operations and Business Services, he was Senior Vice President at Banco Santander until December 2016. He was a member of the Board of the Euro Banking Association and a Director of the SWIFT Board until the end of 2016

Elena has over 19 years experience in Financial Services.
