Frederick Liu is Vice President at Visa Inc. and recently moved to London to focus on new product development for PSD2 and Open Banking. Prior to this role, he was responsible for launching new Identity and Risk Products globally. These solutions span fraud risk, credit risk, and mobile banking APIs that have been deployed to clients in more than 200 countries worldwide.

He has over 15 years of experience in payments covering strategy, authentication, fraud risk, business intelligence, machine learning model development, and customer-centric product design.

Before joining Visa, Frederick was a data architect at IBM Global Services, and a consultant with Ernst and Young, where he managed large-scale e-commerce application development for global companies. Fred holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and International Business from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Antonio Barzachki

Antonio has been working at the EBA for 3 years on payments-related topic. He has led the development of a number of PSD2 mandates, the EBA Opinions on SCA and eIDAS, the EBA PSD2 Register and the work on PSD2 Q&As. He has also been actively involved in the EBA API WG and the major incident reporting under PSD2. He has lead the development of the EBA flagship publication in the consumer protection space – the Consumer Trends Report. Before joining the EBA, Antonio was a head of unit at the Bulgarian National Bank and responsible for authorisation and supervision of payment service providers. Antonio was also a senior expert in a project for transposition of PSD and EMD in the Macedonian legislation. He also used to teach Banking in a university in Bulgaria.

As of 1 February 2014 Gijs Boudewijn (1958) holds the position of Deputy General Manager at the Dutch Payments Association. Before that he was responsible for payments at the Dutch Banking Association. He has extensive experience in domestic as well as international payments issues, governance, competition law and fraud prevention. He started as an in-house lawyer at a large Dutch savings bank, and later became Head of Legal Affairs at the central Dutch clearing house, Bankgirocentrale, the predecessor of equensWorldline.

In 1998 Mr Boudewijn joined the Dutch Banking Association as Head of Payments and Security Affairs, and in 2014 was appointed Deputy General Manager of the Dutch Payments Association. Currently Mr Boudewijn is Chair of the Legal Support Group of the European Payments Council (where he is also a member of the Board) and Chair of the Payment Systems Committee of the European Banking Federation. Over the past years he was in that capacity closely involved with matters relating to PSD2 and the various Regulatory Technical Standards of the European Banking Authority. Mr Boudewijn is a regular speaker at national and international conferences on payments and related issues, new technologies and open banking.

Dr. Jochen Wiedemann currently serves as Director in Identity & Access at the Chief Security Office for Deutsche Bank. During the last years, he was responsible for a large investment program in Identity & Access technology and compliance delivery. This also included the implementation of two-factor authentication (PSD2) for clients across businesses and internal workforce. Prior to his time at Deutsche Bank, he spent ten years at Accenture as a Senior Manager in Security & Technology Consulting. Dr. Jochen Wiedemann studied Computer Science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and completed his PhD in Economics at the University in Bochum. In addition, he was part of an Executive Program at London Business School (LBS). In his private life, he enjoys spending time with his daughters, plays tennis and sailing.

Alan Ainsworth is Head of Policy at the Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE). OBIE was set up by the UK’s competition regulator the Competition and Markets Authority to develop open banking standards and ensure effective implementation by the UK’s biggest banks, with the aim of driving competition and innovation in retail banking. Alan has led the work of the OBIE in focusing on the customers’ ease-of-use when using open banking, and was instrumental in adding app-to-app authentication and the Customer Experience Guidelines to the Open Banking Standard.

Alan has been interested in and involved in open data for financial services since the early days of the UK’s “midata” programme in 2011, where he was an original Steering Group Member. He has advised businesses on payments and open banking legislation including the Interchange Fee Regulation and the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2).

Alan spent most of his career at Barclays, where he had senior roles in payments, retail banking, citizenship and government relations. He has also worked at global payments business Paysafe.

Digital Channels enable Citi’s corporate and institutional customers to access Citi’s global payments, collections, trade, supplier finance and other cash management services, including through the integration of client ERP and treasury management systems.
