Steven Lappin – Managing Director of Corporate Payments

Steven has over 19years’ experience at Barclays and is MD of International Corporate.

As MD of International Corporate, Steven has overall responsibility for merchant acquiring and payment gateway solutions in the International Corporate sphere within Barclays’ Card and Payments division. Prior to this, Steven led the global payment gateway and merchant acquiring sales teams covering multinational, large, mid-corporate and small business segments.

Steven began his career at Barclays in 2002 and has held a variety of sales and sales leadership roles across Cards & Payments, having been close to key developments in that time – from Chip & PIN, through to Contactless and the significant growth of eCommerce and mobile transactions incorporating alternative payment methods and digital wallets.

In recent years Steven has led and grown multiple global sales teams including European and US coverage alongside a deep focus on all segments across the UK. He has spent much of his time helping large corporate clients navigate the evermore complex payments landscape.

Steven is also a key leader for our wellbeing agenda and a vocal ‘straight ally’ for the Barclays Spectrum (LGBT) colleague network.
